Heartland Rockers, WAYLAND release their new single “Be The Lion” on August 8, 2020 via Fearlyss Entertainment.
Written by Phillip Vilenski and Mitchel Arnold of the band, along with Grammy nominated songwriter Justin Rimer of Crosstrax Studio, (12 Stones) and Grammy award nominated artist and industry veteran Keith Nelson, (Buckcherry, Blackberry Smoke, Alice Cooper, Ricky Warwick.) Keith co-wrote, recorded, produced, and co-engineered the song in Burbank, California at MDDN Studios (Good Charlotte.) The track was co-engineered and mixed by Jun Murakawa (Tool, Slipknot, Chris Cornell, Chevelle) and mastered by Dave Collins, (Alice In Chains, The Avett Brothers, Metallica.)

“Be The Lion” is the next single off of Wayland’s upcoming EP, “The Way.” You can already hear the roars of Wayland Warriors all over the planet as they sing in unison to the heroic anthem offering hope in a world currently experiencing fear, dis-ease, and separation.
Phillip Vilenski says, “not only the way we live as a band, but the way we live as the human race, is so comparable to the lion. The same way we bond as a family and a collective, the lion bonds with their pride, and that’s where the strength lies. This separation through quarantine presents an opportunity to unite us  instead of divide us.”

“Seeing the way Wayland Warriors came together during the pandemic was a huge inspiration to put this song out,” adds Arnold. “Like a pride of lions they faced fears together, checked in on one another and protected the Wayland community. Be The Lion is a tip of the hat to all the courageous warriors out there and a reminder that the courage of the pride exists in all of us.”

Wayland is a six time charting Rock band hailing from a town of the same name in Michigan. Starting off by touring the world with performance group, The Young Americans teaching children music, their philosophy that “music is the way,” has been their dharma ever since. Wayland toured three hundred days per year for eight years shaking every hand of every individual Wayland Warrior they made along the way, instilling their midwestern work ethic and sense of gratitude in everything they did. Song after song, Wayland strikes chords figuratively and literally, reminding Warriors of the power of the harmony within themselves.

WAYLAND’s “Welcome To My Head” hit #32 on the active rock charts followed by “Reno” which reached #54. They followed up these successes with “Get A Little,” which debuted at #6 on the iTunes rock charts while simultaneously hitting #49 on media base active rock charts with a viral music video to match. “Bloody Sunrise” reached #30 and was followed by their single, “Through The Fire” which reached #29 on the Billboard Music Charts. “Ghost,” co-written by Brent Smith and Zach Meyers of Shine down reached #28 on BDS active rock. After coming off the road for the first time in almost a decade, Wayland signed with new management, Fearlyss Entertainment to write and record their next EP to which “Be The Lion” debuts on.
